Former FBI director James Comey said on Sunday that he did not believe President Trump was aware of the salacious allegations in the unverified document compiled by former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele when he briefed Trump on the matter last year.
"Sometimes people who have serious credibility problems can tell the truth when they realize that the consequences of not telling the truth in an interview or in the grand jury would be dire. But you'd have to go in with a healthy sense that he might lie to you."
Sen. Chris Coons (D-Del.) said in a Sunday show interview that he believes his legislation to protect special counsel Robert Mueller would garner 60 votes.
