YouTube's NewFronts presentation (aka YouTube Brandcast) saw the platform drop tons of news about its original programming, including partnerships with top creators.
Last week, 120 YouTubers gathered together for the platform's fifth annual North American Creator Summit. The event is composed of a lineup of panels, events, and social gatherings meant to foster collabs, instill industry and business knowhow, and provide crucial feedback to YouTube executives from the biggest independent creators on the platform.
Austin Jones, the former YouTube musician convicted of coercing six underage fans to send him sexually explicit videos, has been sentenced to 10 years behind bars.
The biggest recurring themes of last week's NewFronts — an annual digital advertising confab founded by the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) — were audio content and brand safety.
