The final pieces of the now-infamous Chinese spy balloon have been recovered off the South Carolina coast. The balloon debris lifted from the Atlantic Ocean has been taken to the FBI lab in Quantico, Va., for analysis, according to the U.S. Northern Command. The end of the recovery operation comes about two weeks after a fighter jet took down the balloon, which had drifted across much of the U.S. before it made it to the Atlantic Ocean. The balloon, which weighed about 2,000 pounds, was the size of three city buses and outfitted with antennas and solar panels. Officials are hoping the recovery will offer more insight into China's spy capabilities and operations. |
