Some prosecutors called it a "zombie;" other legal observers said it was a "sleeper case." But Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's (D) probe into Donald Trump is the first to initiate history-making criminal charges against a former president. Among the dizzying array of ongoing criminal probes into former President Trump, he faces investigations by both federal and Georgia authorities over his role in seeking to block the transfer of power after the 2020 election. The Justice Department is also investigating the mishandling of classified records at his Florida home. |

A judge in Delaware has ordered a jury trial in Dominion Voting Systems' blockbuster lawsuit against Fox News, setting the stage for one of the most consequential defamation decisions against an American media company in decades. Lawyers for Fox and Dominion faced off in court during a two-day hearing for summary judgment last week, with each side unsuccessfully arguing the court should rule in their favor and forgo a jury trial that is expected to span weeks and could further bring to light internal discussions at the network following the 2020 election. |

OPINION | If you build it, they will come. Good luck getting a government permit to build it. That's the hard part. The federal permitting process forces American energy infrastructure to endure a maze of regulations, mountains of paperwork, bureaucratic foot-dragging, and costly studies. That's all before the court battles begin. |
OPINION | As we stand at the crossroads of history, trans voices are more critical than ever. We face a time when some trans rights opponents are calling for the eradication of "transgenderism." Meanwhile, organizations like The New York Times that are meant to inform the public have been criticized for promoting fear against the transgender community. It is a moment that demands we rise to the challenge to protect the rights and freedoms of all our citizens. |
