Russian forces primarily targeted Ukraine's western and central regions in the latest attacks, killing multiple people.
Moscow fired off three dozen missiles in the barrage, which Ukrainian presidential office adviser Mykhailo Podolyak called "deliberate large-scale attacks on civilians."
"Solely for the sake of killing and psychological pressure," Podolyak added on X, the platform formerly called Twitter.
In the city of Lviv, a rocket fell into a kindergarten, destroying it, according to Mayor Andriy Sadovyi.
Four people were wounded with non life-threatening injuries in Lviv, while more than a hundred buildings were damaged.
Across the wider Lviv region, 19 people were injured from the rocket attacks, including a 10-year-old child. The severity of their injuries is unclear.
In Lutsk, a city in northwestern Ukraine, Russian strikes damaged a Swedish bearings plant owned by the company SKF and killed three employees.
Other Russian missiles hit the city of Dnipro in central Ukraine, villages in the southeastern Zaporizhizhia region and the city of Kramatorsk in the eastern Donetsk region.
Russia has been bombarding Ukrainian cities since last fall, often targeting civilian infrastructure and energy grids.
The western regions are far from the battlefield, but Moscow has targeted them with strikes, showing nowhere in Ukraine is safe during the war.
Lviv has generally been considered a safe haven for Ukrainians fleeing the war but has lately come under more frequent strikes. A Russian attack on a Lviv apartment building in July killed 6 people.
After Tuesday's spate of attacks, Ukrainian Minister of Internal Affairs advisor Anton Gerashchenko called it "yet another massive Russian missile attack on Ukraine."
"Yet another sleepless night full of terror for many Ukrainians," he wrote.
