San Francisco earned the title of healthiest city in part due to its population's low obesity rate and easy access to green spaces. |
By Rich Johnson Fish and wildlife officials in the Florida Keys have recorded hundreds of incidents of fish literally spinning themselves to death. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission has found no signs of a communicable disease: No red tide toxins, and no issues with oxygen, salt levels, pH, or water temperatures, either. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration announced what it calls an "emergency response" focused on the Florida Keys starting this week. |

By Aimee Plante, Lisa Balick and Michael Bartiromo Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek (D) signed a bill Monday that will once again make it a crime to be in possession of small amounts of illicit drugs. This comes only a few years after a measure decriminalizing such offenses was passed by voters in the state. The new provision will go into effect in September, and will give offenders the choice between being charged or treatment, the latter of which includes completing a behavioral health screening and participating in a "deflection program" in order to sidestep fines. |
