News Alert: Comey asked DOJ for more resources, sources say

The Trump administration spent Wednesday defending its bombshell move of firing FBI director James Comey, with the Justice Department denying reports that the former FBI Director had sought more resources for his agency's investigation into Russian meddling of the US election and ties to Donald Trump's campaign days before the President fired him.

Trump himself went on the offensive, saying Comey was let go for ''not doing a good job,” while a White House spokeswoman said Trump had “been considering letting Director Comey go since the day he was elected."

Meanwhile, Trump met Wednesday with Sergey Kislyak, the Russian ambassador who has been a central figure in the election investigation.
