As we honor the slain civil rights leader Monday, consider turning your day off into a "day on" by participating in a local service project. Here are some ways you can make a difference.

Brexit bounces back to the House
Prime Minister Theresa May returns to Parliament on Monday to lay out her Brexit fallback plan. She's caught in a web of domestic politics and facing the clock to get a deal OK'd by United Kingdom lawmakers and European Union leaders before the March 29 deadline for the UK to leave the EU.

World Economic Forum opens in Davos
A few thousand of the world's richest and most influential people gather starting Tuesday in a Swiss town for the planet's most high-powered networking event. President Donald Trump canceled his Davos trip over the partial government shutdown.
 
American detained in Moscow to get a hearing
The Michigan man charged in Russia with espionage is due in court Tuesday for a pretrial hearing. Paul Whelan is appealing his detention without bail. His family says he's innocent and was only vacationing in Russia.

The Pope to visit Panama
Pope Francis travels Wednesday to the Central American country for World Youth Day. He'll reportedly celebrate two Masses, visit young people in jail and spend time with those who have HIV. The five-day trip happens as the clergy sex abuse scandal continues to stun believers worldwide.
 
Foreign leaders to meet on Syria
The Presidents of Russia and Turkey are due to meet Wednesday in Moscow to talk about US plans to withdraw from Syria, where so many factions are fighting it'll make your head spin. A suspected ISIS attack last week in Syria killed four Americans, but Trump said it won't change his plan for US troops to leave.

Paul Manafort case goes back to court
Attorneys for Trump's former campaign chairman are due Friday in a Washington courtroom to argue with federal prosecutors over whether Manafort violated his plea deal by lying to the FBI and special counsel Robert Mueller; Manafort says he was truthful. It's the latest wrinkle in the sprawling Russia probe.

Super blood wolf moon
If you've been looking for a reason to howl, this is it. A total lunar eclipse -- already rare -- will happen at the same time as a supermoon (when the moon is full and closest to Earth). And because of factors you can dive into here, the moon will look red. The best views will be in North and South America, Europe and Africa. The roughly three-hour event starts at 10:35 p.m. ET.

Sundance Film Festival
If you're into indie flicks, you'll want to make your way to Park City, Utah. The 11-day film frenzy starts Thursday.
 
NFL conference crowns
We'll know today who'll play in Super Bowl LIII (at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, in our 5 Things backyard!). It'll be the winners of the Rams at the Saints at 3:05 p.m. ET and the frigid Patriots-at-Chiefs matchup at 6:40 p.m. ET. The games are on Fox and CBS, respectively.

Tiger Woods is back
He'll make his 2019 debut at the Farmers Insurance Open, which he's won seven times. Four days of top-notch golf will begin Thursday. Watch on the Golf Channel and CBS.

Winter X Games
SuperPipe. Slopestyle. Big Air. Extreme sports go on display starting Thursday in the four-day X Games Aspen competitions. Watch on ESPN and ABC

NHL All-Star Game
Yes, it seems like it's always hockey season. And Saturday is one of the league's biggest nights as the best in all four divisions face off, tournament-style, for a shot at a $1 million prize. The final starts at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
