Economy adds 164K jobs in July, unemployment holds at 3.7 percent
The U.S. added 164,000 jobs in July, the Labor Department reported Friday, a positive sign amid concerns about the long term health of the economy.

The July jobs report largely met expectations as the labor market held strong despite trouble elsewhere in the economy. The unemployment rate held even at 3.7 percent, while the labor force participation rate was little changed 63 percent.
