Almost 90 years after the New Deal, America is on the cusp of another great rebuild. The newly passed infrastructure bill will deliver $550 billion of federal investment over five years. Traditional infrastructure like roads, bridges, ports and transit systems will get much needed support but in a sign of our increasing reliance on technology, broadband connectivity is getting a boost as well. As America looks to lay the foundation for sustainable, modern infrastructure, where should priorities lie and will this ambitious undertaking support inclusive economic growth and job creation?
