In the wake of the Jan. 6 riots, few would have predicted that three years later, Donald Trump would be leading the GOP presidential primary field by a whopping 48 points. Former Republican campaign adviser Myra Adams delves into the mind of Trump voters and finds seven reasons that explain the phenomenon. |
First is "Deceptive rationalization" — the unbreakable feedback loop between Trump and his followers. "Trump is perpetually the innocent victim who cannot lose or fail, and the star who always rises, vowing to undo any wrongs, improve your life, and strengthen the nation," she writes. Second is Trump's "strong-man" image. At a time when American masculinity is under attack, writes Adams, Trump is a cross between John Wayne and Rocky Balboa — "someone who takes no crap and fights to the end." Third, President Biden is much worse than Trump. To most Trump voters, Biden has been a disaster. They believe only Trump can defeat Biden and undo the damage he has done. Adams has four more delusions that infect the mind of the Trump voter — including one that explains why Trump's "dictator talk" won't change any votes. Read the op-ed at TheHill.com. |

Donald Trump recently asserted on Truth Social "Obamacare sucks!!!" He's right. The Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare) has failed to achieve any of President Barack Obama's vaunted promises. Democrats know it, and yet they complain about the U.S. health care system's problems and costs without ever acknowledging that's ObamaCare. | | |

Donald Trump could have been knocked out of the race a long time ago, if not for the political incompetence, venality and ignorance of Merrick Garland, Alvin Bragg and Aileen Cannon. If these three stooges of jurisprudence had acted competently and ethically, Trump would be out and Biden with him. |

Words matter. Their meanings matter. If words have no meaning, then the ideas we construct from those words have no meaning, either. Today, the word that should hold precious meaning but is often dangerously bandied about is "genocide." |
