Ukraine is fighting a war for its existence and U.S. forces are being attacked by Iran in the Middle East. "Unfortunately," the authors write, "Biden has no answer to any of this, outside of November politics." Biden's political calculation is that confronting Russia will lead to a dangerous escalation and that only a ceasefire in Gaza will allow him to avoid the wrath of pro-Palestinian voters in Michigan and other swing states. "But negotiations and ceasefires do not usually resolve conflicts. They merely prolong the inevitable," write Sweet, a retired colonel, and Toth, a national security analyst. "Biden should be supporting winning strategies in Ukraine and Israel, not just in Michigan." Read the op-ed at TheHill.com. |
