Puerto Rico's governor resigns Embattled Puerto Rican Gov. Ricardo Rosselló
announced plans to resign last week amid protests and furor, and
Friday is the day he steps down. Protests broke out across the island after

Time runs out on the INF Treaty Friday is the deadline for the US to
pull out of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty — an agreement the US signed with Russia in 1987 that helped slow the nuclear arms race. Earlier this year, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced the US would suspend involvement in the treaty because, according the the administration, Russia had violated the treaty for years "without remorse." Russia has also
vowed to back out at the same time. Experts worry that the end of the treaty
will give Russia free rein to build and deploy new weapons, and give them an opportunity to blame the United States for any ensuing arms race.
