Thirteen women, including four key Women's March organizers, have been taken into custody after being removed from a rally outside Trump International Hotel, the New York Police Department says.
NYPD would not confirm who was detained. The Women's March said some of its organizers, including Tamika Mallory, Linda Sarsour, Carmen Perez and Bob Bland, were among those being held.
The group posted about the incident on its official Twitter account. "Some of us have been arrested #DayWithoutAWoman," one tweet reads.
Protesters took to the streets across the country Wednesday, marking International Women's Day and the "Day Without a Woman" strike.
