Portland to declare trade and travel ban against Texas

Portland will be voting on an emergency resolution soon that would ban trading with Texas and bar city employees from traveling to the state as a direct response to the state’s new abortion law. Texas’ new law has made it illegal to access or provide an abortion in the state after the sixth week of pregnancy.

Whopping 70 percent of unvaccinated Americans would quit their job if vaccines are mandated

A Washington Post-ABC News poll asked unvaccinated workers whose employers have yet to impose a vaccine mandate what they were likely to do if getting vaccinated was required to go into the workplace. The poll found 16 percent of unvaccinated workers would get the shot, 35 percent would ask for a medical or religious exemption and 42 percent would quit their job.

NASA's Mars rover scores 'phenomenal accomplishment'

Previous attempts at sampling Martian rocks failed to harvest as a result of the sample breaking. This time, officials are confident that the Perseverance rover captured sediment fragments based on photos from inside the collection tube. The rock that Perseverance drilled into was roughly the size of a briefcase and was part of a ridgeline more than half a mile long and full of boulders and rock outcrops, or rock formations visible on the surface.

Lower functioning from chronic sleep loss lingers even after a week of good sleep

Some may try to recover on the weekends or when taking time off from work; however, recent research has suggested that even one night of sleep loss has physical and mental health effects. New research on sleep recovery suggests that one week of recovery from 10 nights of bad sleep may not be enough to get back to full functioning.
