Facebook discovers there's already a company named Meta

Facebook announced it would be changing its name to Meta as part of a rebrand effort, but the move may have hit a snag. An Arizona-based company that sells computers, laptops, tablets and tech software called Meta PC filed to trademark “Meta” in relation to any technological use — right within Facebook’s sphere.

Chefs declare war on a trendy fruit because of its enormous carbon footprint

Oxford expert says 28 million years of human life were wiped out last year – and men were hardest hit

A new study estimates more than 28 million years of human life were lost last year as the COVID-19 pandemic ravaged much of the world. The study measured the years of life lost (YLL) in 37 upper-middle and high-income countries by calculating the number of deaths and the age at which it occurs.

War erupts over new Marvel blockbuster's gay superhero

Marvel’s latest superhero movie, “The Eternals,” began receiving harsh criticism online for showcasing a same-sex couple. Actor Haaz Sleiman, who came out as gay in 2017, plays a character named Ben who is the husband of superhero Phastos. Review-bombers began publishing negative reviews on IMDB in an effort to tank the film's ratings across the internet.
