View Online  500-pound mound of pythons found in Florida marsh © Conservancy of Southwest Florida By Sara Filips A team of trackers found a pile of snakes totaling 500 pounds in a South Florida marsh last month. The report said the discovery happened on Feb. 21 on public land in Naples when officials discovered a 7-foot wide mound of 11 pythons. The Burmese pythons are native to Southeast Asia but have established themselves in Florida, where they prey on local wildlife. These small cities are 'up and coming' hotspots, national study finds © Getty Images By Nick Jachim The personal finance site MoneyGeek set out to determine the top small up-and-coming cities that are the most promising for financial growth. They analyzed 211 small cities in the U.S. based on median household income, unemployment rate, population growth, and the average annual gross domestic product (GDP) growth. Their results found Florida and Texas sitting at the top with the two states making up nine of the top 10 cities.
