There are several things the vice president can do rewrite the narrative of this election, writes politics professor Nathan Shrader. One thing she shouldn't do is "run on Joe Biden's record." |
Though Shrader believes Biden's record is a good one, the torch has been passed, and this is Harris's "chance to make this her campaign." Harris can flip the script on her MAGA rivals by defending the role of government to make lives better in America. And she can do so by focusing on the future. Specifically, says Shrader, Harris should talk about how she would address the rising cost of childcare, the retirement crisis and the mental health crisis. "These are not intangible problems, nor are they contrived ones like Donald Trump's obsession with 'migrant crime.'" In fact, writes Shrader, "This trio of issues directly impact all of us, our families, people we know, people we love and people we can reach out and touch each day." America is ready for this kind of campaign, says Shrader. "Now let's see if Harris can deliver it." Read the op-ed at TheHill.com. |

Paradoxically, it is the U.S. under Biden that has effectively let Beijing off the hook for obscuring the origins of the COVID virus, including stonewalling international investigations into the credible possibility that the pathogen was functionally enhanced at China's military-linked Wuhan Institute of Virology. |
