I think we all have reference points—things we keep in the back of our minds, things we want, things we aspire to. Not many of us are so blessed to not just be inspired, but acquired. Nicolas Ghesquière's journey to Los Angeles is one of those California dreams come true. It so happens that I worked on this story as I moved from Los Angeles to the East Coast. Out with the old, in with the new.
