It was a riveting long weekend for text-based global dramas of the familial and foreign relations sorts.
First there was President Trump's text to Norway's prime minister about acquiring Greenland (but really about the Nobel Peace Prize), a message "so striking that some on social media doubted its authenticity," as Vanity Fair's Aidan McLaughlin writes. It was a swift escalation, even for Trump, and shook allies throughout Europe. Later he would share screenshots of a private message from French president Emmanuel Macron to Truth Social.
And then there was a bomb from Brooklyn Beckham, who outlined in his Instagram Stories exactly why he had fallen out with his parents, David and Victoria. Even after years of rumors, reading (in great detail) about his side of the story was surprising and brought up even more questions… (The wedding video, anyone?)
