Republican voters in former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley's home state will cast their ballots this weekend in her match-up with former President Trump. But she swears that's not the end of the road for her long-shot campaign.
"I'll keep going until the American people close the door," she said in a defiant speech Tuesday.
The latest polls from the Palmetto State, where Haley served two terms as governor, have Trump with a commanding 23-point lead over Haley.
Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), a surrogate for Trump's campaign despite Haley appointing him to the Senate in 2013, has called on Haley to stop her campaign.
"Nikki Haley, herself, has to come to realization — she has to realize that this race is over. It is best for the country, not just the party," Scott said during a Fox News interview Monday.
As Haley took the stage Tuesday, Trump's team blasted out an email with the subject line, "Is Nikki trying to replace Kamala on Biden's ticket?"
"As unbelievable as it may be, it's the only logical explanation for what has become a campaign in futility," Alex Pfeiffer , spokesman for Make America Great Again Inc., said in a statement. "Every dollar spent by Nikki Haley is a dollar spent in support of Joe Biden and the Democrats."
Without naming anyone, Haley accused some fellow Republicans of following a "herd mentality" to rally behind front-runner Trump. She said many who speak positively of the former president in public, "privately dread him."
"They're just too afraid to say it out loud," Haley said. "If I was running for a bogus reason, I would have dropped out a long time ago -- the rest of the fellas already did that.
"I'll campaign until the last person votes," she added.
