Also blame Harris's zero-substance campaign |
We know little about Kamala Harris's policy positions, but let's not be too hard on the journalists who cover her, writes media critic Becket Adams. "It's hard for the media to cover something that isn't there." |
"The lack of robust news coverage is mostly down to the Harris campaign being a hollow shell, constructed entirely from feelings and emotions." "It's 'good vibes' all the way through." Harris has yet to sit for an interview with any journalist, Adams notes. Nor has she unveiled any detailed policy positions; her campaign website lacks a policy section. Adams thinks the lack of policy specifics is by design. It leaves reporters with nothing to cover but "good feelings" and fluff – and they've certainly done that. "At least one can say of Republican nominee Donald Trump that he's an immigration hawk. One can say he's anti-China. But what can anyone say about Harris's policy positions that her spokesperson won't later deny?" "If the Harris campaign were a sitcom, it'd be 'Seinfeld," writes Adams. "Not because it's a show about backstabbing sociopaths, but because it's a show about nothing." Read the op-ed at TheHill.com. |

Speaker Mike Johnson should adopt Nikki Haley's approach. Few politicians are savvy enough to walk the tightrope between MAGA and Never-Trump as Haley has done over the past eight years. |

Whatever one thinks of arms control, it is dangerous for America to limit the size of its deployed arsenal when China, among others, has made no similar commitment, and Xi Jinping and Putin are coordinating both their military moves and their policies, many of which are directed against America. |

Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party are not socialists or anti-capitalists. The party supports the free market and the ability to profit. But there's little debate that she and her party favor policies that would significantly affect businesses and those they call the "wealthy." |

As soon as a teenage girl crosses the Minnesota state line with her aunt or to visit her aunt, Minnesota courts are now armed to strip custody away from the girl's caring parents in Ohio and award it to the aunt, who can immediately start the vulnerable child on dangerous transition drugs. |
