Every year at this time, there's a song that runs on an endless loop in my brain. It's from Kiss Me, Kate, and it's called "We Open in Venice." "We," in this case, are some of the biggest titles premiering this fall; "Venice" is literally Venice, home of the annual film festival that unofficially kicks off awards season, and officially began today. I'm not in Italy myself—but thanks to VF's up-to-the-minute coverage of the fest (and, sure, Cole Porter), I feel like I am. Join me, won't you?
Elsewhere today, the agonies of Jerome Powell; Taylor Swift's maximum share; and the many homes of Will and Kate. More tomorrow… |

As you may have already heard, Prince William and Kate Middleton are packing up and moving—again. The Wales family's new home will be Forest Lodge in Windsor Great Park, only five miles away from Adelaide Cottage, where they currently live. The move sparked controversy when The Mail on Sunday reported that two separate families nearby were asked to leave their homes and were given other accommodations in Windsor Great Park.
Before the Prince and Princess of Wales load up the moving van, revisit their house-hopping ways, which first started when they were students at St. Andrews University in Scotland. |
