Iran rejects U.S. ceasefire proposal Trump receives daily Iran war montage videos Senators scramble as DHS deal fizzles TSA reports highest wait times in history Supreme Court sides with Cox over Sony NASA to build moon base Savannah Guthrie's first interview since mom's disappearance

Iran has reportedly offered a counterproposal to the U.S. after it rejected a 15-point ceasefire proposal from the U.S. Pakistan reportedly served as the intermediary. Here's what's in it, according to two Pakistani officials: "sanctions relief, a rollback of Iran's nuclear program, limits on missiles and reopening the Strait of Hormuz, through which a fifth of the world's oil is shipped." (AP) Iran has already dismissed it: "Iran does not accept a ceasefire," an "informed person" told AP. Meanwhile, the U.S. is sending more troops to the Middle East: The Pentagon has ordered 2,000 U.S. troops from an Army airborne division to the Middle East. A source told The Hill's Filip Timotija this will give President Trump more options for the conflict. For what it's worth, Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said today that Operation Epic Fury in Iran is "almost done," arguing "the objectives have been met." How many troops are already deployed?: "The planned deployment of troops comes as thousands of Marines are going to the Centcom region, where the U.S. military already has about 50,000 U.S. service members, to aid in Operation Epic Fury, which has crossed into its fourth week." ➤ TIDBIT — TRUMP GETS A DAILY VIDEO MONTAGE OF THE IRAN WAR: |
"Each day since the start of the war in Iran, U.S. military officials compile a video update for President Donald Trump that shows video of the biggest, most successful strikes on Iranian targets over the previous 48 hours," reports NBC News. "One described each daily video as a series of clips of 'stuff blowing up.'" |
40 days and 40 nights — the DHS shutdown deal hit a major snag: | Senators' bipartisan compromise to end the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shutdown appears to be falling apart. What happened?: The deal is taking a lot of fire from Democrats and conservative Senate Republicans. 🔴 On the right: Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) bashed the proposal in a private GOP meeting, arguing it effectively defunds Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), a source told The Hill. 🔵 On the left: Democrats want more reforms, such as banning ICE agents from wearing masks and requiring federal immigration officers to obtain judicial warrants. Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (N.Y.) rejected the deal but said Democrats would send a counteroffer. HOW BAD ARE THE AIRPORT SECURITY LINES?: Acting TSA Administrator Ha Nguyen McNeill testified this morning that airport security wait times are the highest they've ever been. McNeill says call-out rates among TSA workers have hit 40 percent to 50 percent at some airports. (For context, she says the call-out rate is usually around 4 percent.) 💻 Watch the hearing SPOTTED IN A LONG AIRPORT SECURITY LINE: Former Attorney General Bill Barr, per CBS's Nicole Sganga 📸 Photo Also spotted, via Sganga: 📸 ICE officers handing out water bottles in line. Cox won this fight against Sony: |
"The Supreme Court unanimously ruled Wednesday that Sony cannot hold Cox Communications liable for not doing enough to disconnect customers who illegally downloaded copyrighted music, a battle that has sent ripples through the music and telecommunications industries," reports The Hill's Zach Schonfeld. Details: "Justice Clarence Thomas, writing for the majority, said a lower court got it wrong in putting Cox on the hook for damages merely because it refused to disconnect customers it allegedly knew were repeat infringers. Instead, the justices ruled that music labels can only sue when an internet service provider actually intended for its product to be used for copyright infringement, or if they tailor the product for infringers' illegal activity." Savannah Guthrie is returning to the 'Today' show for an interview: |
NBC's Savannah Guthrie sat down with co-host Hoda Kotb for a pre-recorded sit-down to talk about the nightmare of the past few months. This is her first interview since her mother, Nancy Guthrie, disappeared from her home. The show posted a clip of the interview. Guthrie is fighting through tears in it and says she's in "agony." 🎥 Watch Is she returning to the anchor seat?: A source told Page Six that Guthrie is hoping to return after her children's spring break. |
A Democrat won in Mar-a-Lago's district: |
Florida Democrat Emily Gregory scored an upset in a Palm Beach County-based state House seat that includes President Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort. Gregory beat Republican Jon Maples. |
Newt Gingrich must be thrilled to hear this: |
NASA will invest $20 billion over the next seven years to build a base on the moon. NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman made the announcement, where he and others outlined plans to have a moon landing by the end of 2028 (!) Keep in mind: Today's announcement also means NASA is canceling plans to launch a space station into orbit. HAPPENING THIS WEEKEND: Another wave of "No Kings" rallies to protest the Trump administration. Organizers say more than 3,000 rallies are scheduled across the U.S. on Saturday. |
