Vice President Harris will head to California this week after two mass shootings left nearly 20 people dead in her home state. Harris will be in Los Angeles on Wednesday, where 11 people were killed and nine were wounded Saturday during Lunar New Year festivities. A separate suspect later fatally shot seven people in San Mateo County. |

President Biden hammered Republicans Tuesday over proposals to cut federal social safety-net programs. Biden was meeting at the White House with Democratic congressional leaders.
"I love their 30 percent sales tax," the president said. "We want to talk a lot about that but I have no intention of letting the Republicans wreck our economy, nor does anybody around this table in my view." He added that Republicans "apparently are genuinely serious about cutting Social Security, cutting Medicare." |
