Donald Trump may be leading in the polls, "but the fundraising contest is not going nearly as well," writes political commentator Liz Peek. Trump needs Nikki Haley to drop out of the primary contest so he can gain "greater access to her deep-pocketed supporters." |

Peek writes, "The Trump campaign reported raising only $19 million in the final quarter of 2023, ending the year with $33 million in the bank. By comparison, the Biden team hauled in $33 million during the period and finished out 2023 with $46 million in its coffers." When you include money raised by the Democratic National Committee, Biden ended "2023 with $117 million on hand — the most of any Democratic candidate ever at this point in the race." The problem for Trump: The RNC cannot raise money for him until Haley drops out. "As much as Trump's camp has blasted Haley for being in the pocket of 'the billionaire donor class,' the truth is that the former president, and anyone else running for the Oval Office, needs to raise a boatload of money from such 'one percenters.'" Trump needs their cash especially since "expenses for his defense will continue to drain his finances." Trump has threatened to Wall Street big wigs supporting Haley that they'll be "'permanently barred from the MAGA camp' if they continue to fund his last remaining challenger for the GOP nomination." That's highly unlikely, says Peek. Trump needs their help. And given the disaster of the Biden presidency, "he may get it." Read the op-ed at TheHill.com. |

Securing the border requires forcing Biden to enforce the law. Nothing we have seen over the past three years suggests he will do that. That's why McConnell's plan to give Biden and Democrats a win that they can campaign on and claim they're working to solve the border crisis is a joke. |

We must come to grips with a force as pernicious as the 20th century tobacco industry: a social media ecosystem that is as dangerously toxic as it is addictive, with young people being the most vulnerable. If social media does not change its ways, it will soon become today's Big Tobacco. |

If the justices of the Supreme Court want to allow Donald Trump to seek the presidency, they will have to throw their originalist and textualist doctrines out the window to do it. |

The international court's preliminary decision contains a strong admonition, calling on Israel to "take all measures within its power to prevent the commission of all acts within the scope of Article II of this Convention [on Genocide]." If it fails to comply, the court's final decision may not be in Israel's favor. |
