President Trump covered a lot of ground in his record-breaking, one hour and 48-minute address to Congress.
He bragged about his signature economic and foreign policies. He blamed Democrats for everything that he could. And he gave out multiple awards.
Was Trump's speech enough to convince Americans that Republicans should be in power after November? Here's the reaction so far:
A CNN flash poll taken right after Trump's address found that a chunk of Americans are still not convinced the president will lower costs.
Thirty-one percent said they were confident Trump will make living costs more affordable while another 29 percent said they have some confidence. Forty percent said they have no confidence in his ability to bring down costs.
A pre-speech survey found that Americans wanted to hear about the state of the economy. A majority, 53 percent, said they thought Trump talked enough about the topic, while 45 percent said he didn't.
The president repeatedly clashed with Democrats during the event. Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) was once again ejected from the room for protesting. Several Democrats stood up and exited mid-speech. Others remained seated, despite Trump's prodding they stand.
"Boy oh boy, we're lucky we have a country with people like this," Trump said at one point, telling a story about a gender transition. "Democrats are destroying our country, but we've stopped it just in the nick of time."
Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) is critical of Democrats today, arguing that lawmakers who heckled and shouted at the president "brought shame upon their party and upon themselves."
