Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday that if Iran attacks Israel directly or indirectly, it would make for a "terrible mistake."
"I should say it very, very clearly," Netanyahu told Fox News's Maria Bartiromo in a "Sunday Morning Futures" interview. "If Iran attacks Israel, either directly or through proxies, either with ballistic missiles or UAVs or killer drones, it will make a terrible mistake. Because our response, Israel's response, will be very, very forceful."

Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) on Sunday said that Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) is “being too cautious” in his talks with Senate Democratic leaders in an effort to avoid a government shutdown at the end of September.
“Look, I mean no disrespect. I love John Thune. He’s my leader. He’s got a big brain. He’s better looking than me. But I think he’s just being too cautious. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on Sunday said he did not regret supporting former Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner (D) after a former girlfriend’s accusations of sexual assault came to light and led the progressive candidate to drop his bid.
CBS News’s Margaret Brennan asked Sanders about his support for Platner on Sunday’s “Face the Nation,” asking if he regretted his support and if acting sooner would “have given you a leg up” with Platner’s eventual replacement as Maine’s Democratic nominee, Troy Jackson.

Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) on Sunday said President Trump hit Saudi Arabia with a "bait and switch" by changing the terms of a nuclear deal to tie it to building Saudi relations with Israel.
"As you well know, the Saudis have been very clear that they will normalize relations with Israel when we're on a clear path toward developing a Palestinian state, living side-by-side –– security for both Palestinians and Israelis," Van Hollen told "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" host Martha Raddatz on ABC News. That has been the Saudi position. And so, what the Trump administration did was a bait and switch scheme."

White House border czar Tom Homan on Sunday said he did not “know specifically” the status of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers involved in two recent fatal shootings in Texas and Maine.
“I don’t know specifically,” Homan said on “State of the Union” to CNN’s Dana Bash. “I haven’t been involved in the investigations, but it’d be policy that they’d be put on administrative leave during the shooting investigation.”

Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.) on Sunday said that President Trump ending the Iran war soon is something that “seems unlikely,” suggesting that the president go to Congress to find a path toward peace.
“At this point, I do think there needs to be a fuller national discussion as to how we go forward,” Cassidy said on CNN’s “State of the Union” with Dana Bash. “If the president wraps this up quickly, it seems unlikely, but they seem to reassure that it can happen. OK, that’s fine.”

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on Sunday dismissed former U.S. Ambassador to Japan Rahm Emanuel's warning written in the Wall Street Journal that "Bernie Bros" could "spoil" the Democratic Party's chances in the midterm elections.
"There is a strong division within the Democratic Party," Sanders told "Face the Nation" host Margaret Brennan on CBS News. "You have an establishment like Rahm Emanuel, who are dependent on billionaire campaign contributions to want to maintain the status quo. Then you have a progressive movement which, by the way, what is getting these guys there is that we are winning all over this country."

“I think we ought to continue the blockade and starve them out,” Kennedy said on CBS News’s “Face the Nation” with Margaret Brennan. “I think we ought to bomb Pickaxe Mountain and try to reach what’s underneath it … The president likes the daily attacks.”

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz on Sunday blamed former President Biden for the Pentagon being low on munitions, but denied that the depletion is negatively impacting the war with Iran.
“We have to take a step back here in that a lot of stockpiles were depleted not only from what we gave Ukraine over the last… four or five years,” Waltz told host Kristen Welker on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

GOP Rep. Byron Donalds (Fla.) on Sunday defended President Trump’s handling of the war with Iran.
“Nobody wants war. I think if you were going to ask Americans at large, whether they're MAGA Republicans or any other American, nobody wants to be involved in another military conflict,” Donalds said to host Chris Stirewalt on NewsNation’s “The Hill Sunday.”
