Michigan Senate candidate Dr. Abdul El-Sayed (D) on Sunday ripped into CNN host Jake Tapper for asking him questions related to Iran and Israel, specifically about past comments the candidate has made.
Tapper first asked El-Sayed about a comment New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani's (D) made to The New York Times. When asked if there was room in the Democratic Party for candidates who take money from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), the pro-Israel lobbying group, the mayor said, "If they are Democrats and they run as Democrats and they win as Democrats, then they should be part of the Democratic Party."

Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) on Sunday said New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D) should “sit down” after floating the possibility of arresting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his upcoming visit to the U.N. General Assembly.
“Well, [he’s] such a tough guy to say that kind of thing. He has no way to do that. Of course, obviously, America’s not even part of that corrupt court,” Fetterman said in an interview with Maria Bartiromo on “Sunday Morning Futures” on Fox News, referring to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Retired U.S. Navy Adm. James Stavridis on Sunday warned that the U.S. should watch Iran’s actions in the Suez Canal.
“It’s got more traffic flowing through it than the Strait of Hormuz and the Iranians are beginning to make noises about attempting to close that, using the Houthis in the southwest corner,” Stavridis told CNN’s Jake Tapper, referring to the Iran-backed militant group in Yemen.

Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.), who has increasingly bucked his party in recent years, went after Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) for his endorsements of former Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner and current Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed.
On Saturday, Sanders held a rally alongside El-Sayed and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) in Detroit. Both Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez, some of the most prominent progressives in the U.S., have backed El-Sayed.

Rep. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) said Sunday that Israel is “our strongest ally in the Middle East” after being questioned about a recent vote in the House where more than 100 Democrats voted to cut off aid to Israel.
“This is the time to provide that humanitarian support to ensure that the Palestinians are looking at opportunity in the future,” Shaheen told “Fox News Sunday” host Shannon Bream in an interview alongside Sen. Katie Britt (R-Ala.) when asked about the vote.

Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) on Sunday said President Trump could "do something positive" instead of talking about the 2020 presidential election, clapping at the president's primetime speech on Thursday about election security.
"I don't know why the president is dragging up all this stuff," Fetterman told CNN's Jake Tapper on "State of the Union." "You're the president. Do something positive, and you are talking about 2020. That's been settled over six years ago. It's deeply unhelpful and that distracts important things, especially like the Iranian war right now."

Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.) on Sunday slammed the current U.S. conflict with Iran, saying that “it’s remarkable in many ways” the U.S. military hasn’t faced more death in the fighting, comments that followed the death of two service members on Friday.
“Well, first of all, condolences to the service members' families, and it's remarkable in many ways that we've not had more casualties. We literally have hundreds of seriously wounded, but I think we're at 16 fatalities,” Warner said Sunday, commenting on the two service members’ deaths, on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”

Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) on Sunday said that Iran still holding onto its "nuclear dust" justifies U.S. strikes on the Islamic regime after both countries dropped their interim deal and hostilities resumed.
"Now remember, they have nuclear dust. Why isn't that important? Why doesn't that justify to continue to justify these kinds of strikes?" Fetterman said on "Sunday Morning Futures" with Fox News's Maria Bartiromo. "I think it's an important thing to break the Iranian military regime as they continue to do."

Rep. Haley Stevens (D-Mich.), who is running as a Democratic candidate for Senate in the Great Lakes State, on Sunday denied that President Trump’s actions in Iran were the result of Israeli influence.
“Donald Trump is gonna do what Donald Trump does. And I think it's a fool's run to place blame on him supposedly being dictated by others,” Stevens said during an appearance on NewsNation’s “The Hill Sunday.”

Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.) on Sunday criticized CBS for airing President Trump’s recent speech on election security.
“There are so many absurdities and falsehoods in Trump’s Thursday night speech, and I’m glad that most media treated it not as serious news. And I know some folks at your network — the journalists, I have huge respect for,” Warner told CBS News’s Margaret Brennan on “Face the Nation.”
