“I have paused the 50% Tariffs against Canada, that were scheduled to kick in tomorrow morning for a three day period, based on the fact that Canada and the U.S.A., subject to the finalization of documents, have a DEAL!” he wrote on Truth Social.
"The great Keystone XL Pipeline, long ago killed by Sleepy Joe Biden, may be awoken from the grave!" he added, but he did not elaborate.
The pipeline project, which would have brought Canadian oil to the U.S., was abandoned by company TC Energy after then-President Biden canceled its cross-border permit.
TC Energy later spun off its liquid pipeline operations. The Hill has reached out to spinoff company South Bow for comment.
The company said last year that it had "moved on" from the project.
