As internet jokes that became TV shows go, Brothers definitely has one over Shit My Dad Says. The series casts True Detective costars and good pals Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey as heightened versions of themselves who discover that, much as social media users have long speculated, they actually have the same father. In real life, they don’t, but they could have: McConaughey’s mother actually did sleep with Harrelson’s dad before her son was born. How do you spin an entire narrative out of this kernel of an idea? I’ll let Rebecca Ford explain: She spoke with Harrelson, McConaughey, and showrunner Lee Eisenberg for an exclusive first look at the project. Fingers crossed that either the pilot or the final episode is titled “Time Is a Flat Circle.”

On Thursday night, after arriving for dinner on a 36-acre expanse on the eastern end of Long Island, VF art correspondent Nate Freeman watched as NBA star Kevin Love walked into cocktail hour on the grounds—which included a massive former horse barn, lines of stables, and a 19th-century farmhouse, all of which had been meticulously restored.
At one point, while snatching a locally grown radish from the spread of crudités wedged into what was normally a table’s outdoor fire pit, Freeman saw Sofia Coppola and her husband, Phoenix frontman Thomas Mars, taking in what would be any art collector’s dream.
